Cheesy Hot Dogs

Hi everyone,

On Saturday I made Cheesy Hot Dog!Be careful they have egg in them! If you want to try them then here is the recipe:

How to make Cheesy Hot Dogs In Ten Simple Steps:

Makes 27       Preparation 20 minutes        Cook 15 minutes


  • 3 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 Cup of grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of tomato paste
  • 27 (850g) cocktail frankfurts
  • 1 egg, lightly whisked
  • Tomato sauce, to serve


  1. Preheat oven to 220OC/200OC fan forced.
  2.  Grease and line 2-3 baking trays with baking paper.
  3.  Cut each sheet of pastry into 9 equal squares (total 27)
  4. Top the centre of each square evenly with cheese  then tomato paste.

  5. Place a frankfurt diagonally across each pastry square (corner to corner)
  6. Wrap the 2 opposite corners of the pastry over the frankfurt to close it up.

  7. Transfer to prepared trays.
  8. Brush top with egg.

  9. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden, puffed and cooked, swapping trays halfway through cooking.
  10. Serve with tomato sauce.


  • Use Poppy seeds and brush them on with the egg (in step 8)
  • Use Salsa instead of Tomato PasteCheesy Hot Dog Puffs are very yummy and I would recommend cooking them to anyone

    without an allergy to egg.
